Basic Function

The Assistant Director will work closely with the Director of Professional Development to initiate, plan, and facilitate STEM professional development workshops for PK-12 educators and administrators. In addition, the Assistant Director will take part in marketing of PD opportunities and develop plans to grow the STEM Education Center’s PD offerings.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

Principal Duty and Responsibility

Initiate, plan, and facilitate STEM workshops for PK-12 educators
- Support the work of professional development consultants
- Assist with administrative tasks related to professional development

Principal Duty and Responsibility

Co-lead the STEM Integration for Education Leaders program
- Assist with program’s scale-up

Principal Duty and Responsibility

Keep up with STEM related policy changes at the Federal and State level

Principal Duty and Responsibility

Assist with marketing of PD offerings to expand the Center’s outreach and impact

Principal Duty and Responsibility

Take part in writing proposals and presenting at State and National conferences

Position Requirements

Requirement

Extensive knowledge about STEM Education standards and best practices

Requirement

Extensive K-12 & adult teaching experience

Requirement

Project management experience

Requirement

Master’s degree (or equivalent) in education or related field

Requirement

Excellent communication skills

Requirement

Ability to engage with diverse populations to ensure equal access to STEM education

Requirement

Desired experiences
• Experience planning and conducting PDs
• Grant writing experience
